Initially, they hired workers on a 1099 basis, but a few years later, they transitioned to a W2 employee model, gradually adding retirement and healthcare benefits. They understand the physical demands of the flooring trade and treat their installers with compassion and respect. By 2018-2019, the company faced a pivotal moment in its growth. Networking became a crucial strategy, leading them to join the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and participate in events like the West Michigan Minority Contractors meetings and the City of Grand Rapids Monday meetings.
