We measure every opening rather than sampling, and on a building we identify window patterns rather than counting openings — because older buildings almost never have one window type throughout. That takes longer at the front end. It is the difference between units that fit and units that need packing out, and packing out is where air leakage and water ingress start. It is a better business over time, and it is why contractors come back. We Do Not Claim Work We Are Not Licensed For Architecture and engineering require licensure in New York and we do not hold it. We provide glazing-scope surveys, shop drawings for what we fabricate, and buildability review of someone else's design. Where a job needs stamped drawings, you need a registered architect or professional engineer, and we will say so. The same applies to landmarks work: the Landmarks Preservation Commission approves windows and installations, not vendors. There is no such thing as a landmark-approved contractor. We are the supplier and installer, working to the approvals your architect or GC secures. Credentials and Training What our people hold, stated at the level it is true. NYC Site Safety Training (Local Law 196): foremen hold the DOB SST supervisor card; every crew member holds the 40-hour SST worker card. Our crews can lawfully work on any permitted job site in New York City. Alutech and Everest aluminum systems: Alex GC is certified by the manufacturers to fabricate, install and service both systems. That is why we hold shop drawings, stock profile and parts, and can quote a repair on either system from the truck. Marvin: members of our installation team have completed Marvin installation training. Manufacturer test data: the aluminum systems we sell carry third-party test reports (Intertek) for structural, thermal and acoustic performance; we publish the results on the brand pages and file the reports in the Technical Library as they are added.
