What We Do Alex Glass Construction supplies, fabricates and installs glass, windows, doors and facade systems across New York City and the surrounding region. We work from our own shop on Staten Island, alongside a partner company in Brooklyn, and we bring architectural glass in through Oldcastle. Our work splits four ways, and most jobs involve more than one. Supply. Glass, windows, doors and hardware to contractors, builders and homeowners doing their own installation. Site delivery on orders over $2,500, or collection from Staten Island by appointment. See material supply or products at https://alexglasscorp.com/products.html Fabrication. Aluminium window and door systems built to the surveyed opening rather than to catalogue sizes, including arched heads and non-standard shapes. See custom fabrication. Installation. Our own crews, in occupied buildings, sequenced around residents and trading hours. See our protfolio at https://alexglasscorp.com/portfolio-searchable.html Waterproofing. We describe ourselves as full opening specialists, which means we take responsibility for the whole opening rather than just the unit that goes in it. See waterproofing. Who We Work For General contractors and architects, where we deliver the glazing scope against drawings and approvals someone else has secured. Managing agents and co-op boards, on building-wide programmes and compliance work. Commercial and retail owners. And homeowners, from a single replacement to a whole house. A large share of our work comes through GCs, which shapes how we operate: we quote against drawings, we work to someone else's programme, and we say early when something on a drawing will not build. How We Approach a Job Three things run through everything on this site, and they are worth stating plainly because they are how we would like to be judged. We Survey Before We Price Openings in older buildings are not square. Heads are not the same width as sills, jambs are not plumb, and no two openings on an elevation match. We measure every opening rather than sampling, and on a building we identify window patterns rather than counting openings — because older buildings almost never have one window type throughout. That takes longer at the front end. It is the difference between units that fit and units that need packing out, and packing out is where air leakage and water ingress start. We Say When Something Will Not Work Several pages on this site talk clients out of spending money. Triple glazing is often not the answer for noise. Low-iron glass is not worth paying for on vision glazing in a frame. A building may need a hundred new locks and only forty genuine rebuilds. A leaking balcony door is frequently a balcony falling the wrong way. We would rather give the honest assessment and lose the larger order. It is a better business over time, and it is why contractors come back. We Do Not Claim Work We Are Not Licensed For Architecture and engineering require licensure in New York and we do not hold it. We provide glazing-scope surveys, shop drawings for what we fabricate, and buildability review of someone else's design. Where a job needs stamped drawings, you need a registered architect or professional engineer, and we will say so. The same applies to landmarks work: the Landmarks Preservation Commission approves windows and installations, not vendors. There is no such thing as a landmark-approved contractor. We are the supplier and installer, working to the approvals your architect or GC secures. Credentials and Training What our people hold, stated at the level it is true. NYC Site Safety Training (Local Law 196): foremen hold the DOB SST supervisor card; every crew member holds the 40-hour SST worker card. Our crews can lawfully work on any permitted job site in New York City. Alutech and Everest aluminum systems: Alex GC is certified by the manufacturers to fabricate, install and service both systems. That is why we hold shop drawings, stock profile and parts, and can quote a repair on either system from the truck. Marvin: members of our installation team have completed Marvin installation training. Manufacturer test data: the aluminum systems we sell carry third-party test reports (Intertek) for structural, thermal and acoustic performance; we publish the results on the brand pages and file the reports in the Technical Library as they are added. We do not list certifications we do not hold. If a job needs one we lack — a licensed engineer’s stamp on a curtain-wall calculation, for example — we bring in the professional who holds it and say so. People Alex GC is a small company and most of what is written on this site is reviewed by the people who do the work. Two of them by name: Aleksandr Chernovolenko, Managing Partner. Reviews the technical content on this site — product pages, the articles, the comparison and area pages — before it is published, together with our design and estimating lead and a field foreman. Vlad Belikin, Professional Coordinator and Driver. More than twenty years in the New York metro area; coordinates deliveries, site logistics and the movement of material and crews between the Staten Island shop and jobs across the five boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey. The rest of the team — estimating and design, project management, fabrication and the field crews — is described by role on the team page. Where We Work All five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, the Jersey Shore, Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. Our showroom is at 7 Beach Street, Staten Island, by appointment only. Call 929-235-1233, message us on WhatsApp, or use the quote form. If your building is outside that area and you are not sure, call and ask. If we cover it we will tell you, and if we do not we will say so rather than waste your time.

At Wonderful Signs, we’ve been helping clients navigate the complexities of interior signage projects since 2004. We understand the unique challenges these projects present, and with our years of experience in national project management and wholesale services, we make even the most complex projects manageable. Common Challenges We Help Solve: • Hidden or Missing Requirements: Thick stacks of construction documents often hide critical signage details or leave them out entirely. We identify and address these gaps, ensuring nothing is overlooked. • Constant Construction Changes: Shifting timelines and evolving plans can disrupt your project. We stay agile, adapting designs and plans to keep your signage on track. • Unfeasible Designs: Some designs don’t meet code requirements or are impractical to produce. We refine concepts to make them functional and compliant. • Lack of Visual Appeal: We craft designs that balance creativity and functionality, ensuring your signage is not just effective but also visually impressive. • Cost-Effective Alternatives: When designs are too costly to produce, we offer alternative solutions that maintain quality and stay within budget. • Code Compliance Issues: Whether it’s ADA, building, fire, or other authorities, we ensure your signage meets all relevant regulations. From ADA and wayfinding signage to large-scale illuminated logos, we provide expert guidance through every step of the process—signage takeoffs, code review, creative design, fabrication, and installation.
