Alabama State Parks would like to invite you to participate in the bidding process for this construction project by utilizing our Construction Project Management Software, “Procore.” Procore helps to streamline the bidding process by allowing bid invitees to download relevant bid documents and submit their bids electronically. In this system, all electronic correspondence is tracked and archived, and bidders are provided with the most up to date information available for the project.  We feel that this tool will simplify the bidding process for your project team by cutting down on the amount of filing and paperwork that typically accompanies bid management.    Sealed proposals will be received by the Commissioner c/o State Parks Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Folsom Administrative Building, 64 N. Union Street, Suite 538, Montgomery, AL 36104, until 2:00 PM CST, Monday, September 14, 2026. Bids will be opened and read aloud publicly in their conference room on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST, for: CHEWACLA STATE PARK CAMPGROUND LOOP 1 ADA RENOVATION LEE COUNTY, ALABAMA ASPD PROJECT NO.: 2026-029-1711 Scope of Work: Demolition of existing bath house and sidewalks, and other items Renovation of two campsites Concrete and gravel sidewalks Reconnection of utilities to new bath house and campsites Bid Documents: Bid documents will become available on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Bidders may obtain plans and specifications from the Construction Manager, at the office of Alabama State Parks, 64 North Union Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36130, by calling (334) 353-7996, or email request to [email protected]. Paper copies are available upon request at the State Parks office. PDF electronic copies are available via email at no cost to the bidder. Pre-Bid Meeting: A non-mandatory attendance Pre-Bid Meeting will be held onsite at Chewacla State Park, 124 Shell Toomer Parkway, Auburn, Alabama 36830 Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST. Submission of Bids: Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by State Parks or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amount exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Construction Manager; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Alabama State Parks in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Bids submitted prior to the bid opening may be delivered in person to the office of State Parks at the address stated above. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
